Loving the G20 vibe? Here’s how Eduverse Summit is a ‘mini G20 for educators’

When it comes to global development, the only way to move forward is to move together. That’s why 20 fast moving global economies are meeting in New Delhi under the aegis of the ambitious G20 Summit’. For the unversed, the Group of 20 (G20) are an inter-governmental forum of the world’s largest economies. They are meeting on September 9-10 in New Delhi for the annual dialogue. The dignitaries include US President Joe Biden, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron, Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Bin Salman, Japan’s Fumio Kishida, Indian premier Narendra Modi and other state heads.

This collective learning journey mirrors the agenda at India’s most dynamic summit on higher education, Eduverse Summit, where 1,200 educators from 21 countries will convene.

Just as the G20 Summit holds the keys to collective economic and cultural development, the Eduverse Summit is all about shaping higher education. In a lot of ways, it is like a ‘mini G20 for higher education’. Since its announcement in July 2023, Eduverse Summit has become the go-to platform for global education thought leaders, academic heads and high education institute leaders to convene and inspire changes in learning and education. Here’s how Eduverse Summit is doing things differently:

Global approach: What sets this summit apart is the presence of international educators and visionaries. Educators from 21 countries would join the event and share insights from their regions. Chaired by Sarah Todd, Vice President (Global), Griffith University, Australia, the summit has been designed to highlight global perspectives in education. From research to employability, student mobility and new-age learning – the summit has a global agenda on the table.

Cross-sectional agenda: The summit’s agenda utilizes every hour of the summit well, allowing delegates to share their views, learn and network. It has dedicated time slots for Higher Education Institutes’ (HEI) Expo, EdTech focussed panel discussions to institute showcases – with clear takeaways for all delegates.

Dynamic speakers: Distinguished leaders including Prof. TG Sitharam, Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE); Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC); Dr. Mohit Gambhir, Former Founder Director of Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education; Ira Singhal, Special Secretary of Education in Arunachal Pradesh; Victor Tomiczek, Director of International Recruitment and Global Partnerships at Cape Breton University; and Raghwa Gopal, CEO of M Square Media will be speaking at the Eduverse Summit. They will be addressing topics related to higher education, role of skills, EdTech, hybrid education, and student mobility across borders, among other topics.

Eduverse Summit provides a unique opportunity for policymakers, education leaders, and sector influencers to come together and take the international education agenda forward. The powerful networking opportunities further enable attendees to form meaningful partnerships, collaborations, and alliances for sector-wide progress and innovation.
